Mid Murray Support Service September 2024
As the weather starts to treat us with little snippets of Spring, we at Mid Murray Support Service have been busier than ever! We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful community for your patience and understanding regarding the carpark changes. With construction next door, our carpark has been significantly impacted, but thanks to the care everyone has taken, it remains safe for all. Though it's still a work in progress, your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Pantry Goods Needed: A Call for Donations
Our pantry shelves are running low, and we urgently need your help supporting those in need within our community. Your generous donations form part of our Emergency Relief supply, where we can supply those in need with food and other goods whilst they are doing it tough. We are particularly in need of the following items:
· Tin fruits
· Pasta sauces
· Gluten-free foods
· Tinned vegetables
· Snacks
· Noodles
· Packet soups
· Pasta
· Baby food
· Pet food
· FODMAP Meals
Please consider donating non-perishable items with long expiration dates to ensure they can be stored for future use. Every contribution makes a difference, so if you can spare a few items during your next shop, we would be immensely grateful.
Community Watch: Protecting Our HUB
We are saddened to say that our HUB has been targeted by a persistent thief who searches our vehicles and trailers for anything not securely fastened. We kindly ask our community to keep an eye on the HUB, particularly after hours and on weekends. If you notice any suspicious activity, please get in touch with SAPOL at 131 444 or Mid Murray Support Service at 8569 1832. Your vigilance can help us safeguard our resources and continue serving the community.
3G Network Shutdown: A Vital Notice
Starting 28 October 2024, major telecommunication providers will switch off their 3G networks. This change will have a significant impact on all devices relying on the 3G network, not just mobile phones. Telstra customers can text the number 3 to 3498, and Telstra will reply, letting you know if your handset needs to be changed. Please ensure that your devices are upgraded to continue accessing essential services.
Thank you to Terry White Chemist
A big thank you to Fiona and the team at Terry White Chemists in Mannum for their generous support in providing Glucojel Jellybeans for our New Client Welcome Packs. Whether it's a quick sugar fix for medical reasons or just for fun, we and the community greatly appreciate your contribution.
Exciting Activities at The HUB
Our group activities continue to grow in popularity, and we're excited to announce that we plan to introduce even more events to The HUB. We believe that the best ideas come from our community, so if you have an idea for an activity that you think would benefit the community, we'd love to hear from you! Your input is valuable to us. Please call us at 08 8569 1832 or email adele@mmss.com.au. For a full list of current activities, including prices, dates, and times, visit our website at mmss.com.au.
